South Pass City

Today we traveled to South Pass City, about 30 miles south of our house. It was part of the Oregon Trail and its the second oldest city in WY. In the late 1860s, it became a huge gold mining town. Since the gold rush, its been a deserted western town. Its amazing to see how simple things were. Don't let the sign fool you...the population is now down to 4.

YELLOWSTONE

Amanda, Lily & I spent the weekend in Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks. I think its one of the most beautiful places in the world. It really shows me how big God is. Both parks are in Wyoming but we stayed in a small Western town just inside Montana. We came back through Cody, WY (named after Buffalo Bill Cody). Lily had a great time and she already told me that she wants to go back. She said her favorite part were the bull elk. That’s my girl.

Yellowstone became the world’s first national park in 1872. The pictures don’t do it justice, so you will have to come and see for yourself.

Our Journey West!!

As many of you know, we have had quite an amazing summer!! Zack finished dental school, we had a beautiful baby named Lily and we just moved across the country to Lander, Wyoming! We thought we were ready for a change and boy did we get one!! After completing the long process of dental school, Zack decided to take a job with the Indian Health Service. With the chance to experience someplace totally different we decided to move!! Why Wyoming?? Well if you know Zack then you know that he can't get enough of the outdoors. And, after a week long trip to the west last summer, I also thought it was the most beautiful, untouched place I have ever seen. After praying HARD about it, we decided what better time to do it than now?? And then we had Lily! We know God has a plan for us here and are excited about the future!!
Although the journey here was a long one (26hrs with a 6 week old), it was definately a fun one with the help of Zack's parents. Believe me it took all hands on deck to acheive this! We arrived to our new house with pleasant surprise after we agreed to rent it sight unseen!! This is such a quaint little town with so much character. It reminds me of Mayberry. Everyone walks everywhere and I can't wait to experience it all. (Remind me of this when winter comes!!) Well, we just wanted to update you all and tell you that we love and miss you very much!!
