Christmas in Dixie

We had a great trip home for Christmas! It was a whirlwind, but so good to see all of you. Here are a few pics from our trip. This was Lily's first ride on an airplane...she was in awe of this adventure and didn't cry a bit. In fact her eyes were this big the whole time! Aunt Amy and Aunt Jennie...
Here is her first Christmas morning. She was just as excited with all the wrapping paper as she was with her toys.

Christmas in WY

With snowfall on the ground, its beginning to look a lot like Christmas here! We took Lily to a Christmas celebration downtown and had a blast. She got her first look at Santa and even had her face painted! We're looking forward to seeing it all through her eyes this year..
Afterwards, we went back home to warm up. Lily and Sawyer showed off their face paintings.

Thankful Thanksgiving

How exciting! My parents came to visit for Thanksgiving and we had such a great time. Not to mention my first time to host a thanksgiving dinner... Zack and Lily are ready to carve the turkey!
TaDa! Isn't she pretty! It tasted good too, however I can't take much of the credit for this. I had a lot of help from the cook in our family...my stepdad, Mike.

By the way...ROLL TIDE!

After such a great Thanksgiving... Christmas here we come!

Happy 4 Months!!

Four months has brought a world of changes for Lily. She is rolling over, trying to sit up, eating from a spoon and showing so much personality! Every day we're reminded how blessed we are for each other and such a fun little girl...

My neighbor, Lorraine, and I were off to cast our votes today. We even got the kiddos involved...
Lily and Sawyer did a little campaigning themselves!

Happy Halloween!

This was a big week for Lily! She carved her first pumpkin, trick-or-treated and started eating rice cereal for the first time!! We greeted our trick-or-treaters!
How scary is this skeleton??

We carved a pumpkin-its my favorite activity of the year! Can you tell which one we carved? Its the thought that counts...

Happy Halloween!

Our visit to Jackson Hole, WY

This weekend we took a trip to Jackson Hole, WY. It's about 3 hours west of our house. This is the off season so there was no snow or skiing going on yet, but still some beautiful scenery. Here are some pics... These are bronze sculptures outside of the National Wildlife Art Museum. It overlooks the National Elk Refuge.

These are the famous arches at the park in the center of town. They are made of elk antlers gathered throughout the years from the National Elk Refuge just outside of town.

Zack being...Zack. He doesn't know I snuck this one in.

Our visit to Jackson Hole, WY

This was Lily's favorite store... There was tons of shopping! Something I've missed lately... so much fun!
This is the scenery around the town of Jackson, WY. It is at the base of the Grand Teton National Park.
This is the drive from our house to Jackson. Look at the colors of these mountains... even purple, my favorite.

Record snow and a visit from Aunt Kristie

Our little town of Lander, WY. We had 32" of snowfall by the end of the weekend (a record first snow of the year). If you can imagine, nothing closed and stores had plenty of milk & bread. Even James Spann mentioned Lander's record snowfall! (really, he did). And, the snow was just in time for my sister, Kristie, to visit.
Our first snowman as a family. This snow was perfect for making him.
I just had to.

Record snow and a visit from Aunt Kristie

Lily is 3 months old now and learning new tricks everyday. We are so amazed at how much she is growing! Watch out...I'm ready to crawl!
Move over Zack, Lily has the remote.

Let It Snow...

Here it is!! October 11th and our first snow!! It was beautiful. Over a foot of snow fell in less than 24 hours! Suprisingly it doesn't feel as cold as it looks (I'm serious). I'm pretty sure everyone here could tell it was our first time to see some real snow.
My girls.
Amanda double-dog dared me.
This is Lily with her new friend Sawyer. Making snow angels is hard work.
Shoveled the driveway earlier, but I'll have to do it again. I caught Big Orange accross the road this week sawing off his fenders to make room for some bigger 44" mud tires. He's making my 30" street tires look bad.

South Pass City

Today we traveled to South Pass City, about 30 miles south of our house. It was part of the Oregon Trail and its the second oldest city in WY. In the late 1860s, it became a huge gold mining town. Since the gold rush, its been a deserted western town. Its amazing to see how simple things were. Don't let the sign fool you...the population is now down to 4.
On the way up, 15 miles from our house
Store fronts in South Pass City
An underground cellar from the 1800s
An outhouse...that stinks
