Christmas in Dixie
We had a great trip home for Christmas! It was a whirlwind, but so good to see all of you. Here are a few pics from our trip. This was Lily's first ride on an airplane...she was in awe of this adventure and didn't cry a bit. In fact her eyes were this big the whole time!

Christmas in WY
With snowfall on the ground, its beginning to look a lot like Christmas here! We took Lily to a Christmas celebration downtown and had a blast. She got her first look at Santa and even had her face painted! We're looking forward to seeing it all through her eyes this year..
Afterwards, we went back home to warm up. Lily and Sawyer showed off their face paintings.

Happy Halloween!
This was a big week for Lily! She carved her first pumpkin, trick-or-treated and started eating rice cereal for the first time!!
We greeted our trick-or-treaters!
How scary is this skeleton??

We carved a pumpkin-its my favorite activity of the year! Can you tell which one we carved? Its the thought that counts...

Our visit to Jackson Hole, WY
This weekend we took a trip to Jackson Hole, WY. It's about 3 hours west of our house. This is the off season so there was no snow or skiing going on yet, but still some beautiful scenery. Here are some pics...
These are bronze sculptures outside of the National Wildlife Art Museum. It overlooks the National Elk Refuge.

These are the famous arches at the park in the center of town. They are made of elk antlers gathered throughout the years from the National Elk Refuge just outside of town.

Zack being...Zack. He doesn't know I snuck this one in.

Record snow and a visit from Aunt Kristie
Our little town of Lander, WY. We had 32" of snowfall by the end of the weekend (a record first snow of the year). If you can imagine, nothing closed and stores had plenty of milk & bread. Even James Spann mentioned Lander's record snowfall! (really, he did). And, the snow was just in time for my sister, Kristie, to visit.
Our first snowman as a family. This snow was perfect for making him.
I just had to.

Let It Snow...
Here it is!! October 11th and our first snow!! It was beautiful. Over a foot of snow fell in less than 24 hours! Suprisingly it doesn't feel as cold as it looks (I'm serious). I'm pretty sure everyone here could tell it was our first time to see some real snow.

South Pass City
Today we traveled to South Pass City, about 30 miles south of our house. It was part of the Oregon Trail and its the second oldest city in WY. In the late 1860s, it became a huge gold mining town. Since the gold rush, its been a deserted western town. Its amazing to see how simple things were. Don't let the sign fool you...the population is now down to 4.
